About the Book
HOW TO GET ARRESTED®: A Motivational Story for Actors is a unique book, one that provides the actor with valuable, usable information on the business of acting as no other book can. The lessons in, and the spirit of How To Get Arrested will inspire those who seek to “make it” in any profession.
A personal manager for more than 20 years, Michael Wallach shares his knowledge and advice not in an academic way, or through dry checklists. Rather, he employs a lively, accessible and absorbable novella style to follow the tale of two young actors as they embark on the same journey as thousands of hopefuls each year.
Dick and Jane move to Hollywood to become working actors, and hopefully stars. They are anxious about what comes next. One of them “hopes to get discovered,” thinking that the way to fame and fortune is to be represented by the biggest agent and manager , and bypassing casting directors, and auditioning for producers and directors only . The other one makes well thought out choices, creating a game plan for success .
Knowing the questions aspiring actors have and knowing the motivation and support they need prompted Wallach to write HOW TO GET ARRESTED®. The book is entertaining, woven with facts, experience and wisdom, written in a unique novella format. Reading the book, you can learn how you can come to town without knowing anyone and still make it in this business!!!
HOW TO GET ARRESTED® speaks to the actor's creative mind. Author Wallach demonstrates a great affection for actors and a keen insight into the hurdles they face. HOW TO GET ARRESTED® answers questions all actors ask, and supplies the information all actors need.
Personal Manager Joannie Burstein (clients include Patrick
Dempsey of "Grey's Anatomy") says: "How To Get Arrested' is a
must read for actors of all levels -- I would encourage my
clients to spend an evening soaking up these wonderful words of
wisdom".
